Microperforated E 2/2/0.5

Timberix™ Microperforated panel is made with a 2-layer perforation structure, which traps and diffracts sound in the holes. The sound that passes through the perforation is further absorbed by acoustic substrate such as fiberglass or mineral wool, which reduces reverberation in the room. The perforation of 0.5mm micro-holes is only perceptible at a short eye distance (+/- 250 000 holes/m2) and laminated on a 15mm thick perforated MDF eco-friendly board.

Sound Absorption Coefficient

Timberix™ is tested to ISO 354 Standards, which is the measurement of sound absorption in a reverberation room. The difference in the reverberation times is a measure of the amount of absorption in the room.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Timberix™ Microperforated E 2/2/0.5 is a precision-engineered wood acoustic panel with 0.5 mm micro-holes spaced 2 mm apart in both directions, using a dual-layer perforation structure that traps and diffracts sound and directs it into an acoustic backing like fibreglass or mineral wool to reduce reverberation.

Its high-density pattern of extremely small holes dramatically increases surface interaction with sound waves, allowing them to enter the perforations and be absorbed by the backing material, which significantly lowers echo and reverberation compared to untreated hard surfaces.

These microperforated panels are ideal for walls and ceilings in offices, libraries, studios, auditoriums, classrooms, and other sound-sensitive interiors where enhanced speech intelligibility and reduced background noise are important without compromising design.

The ultra-fine 0.5 mm perforations deliver a subtle, sleek surface appearance while still enabling effective sound absorption through the backing substrate, making this pattern perfect for spaces that need gentle but effective acoustic control without a bold textured look.

Yes — Timberix™ microperforated panels are manufactured from eco-friendly, recyclable materials, and the product is tested to ISO 354 sound absorption standards when paired with proper substrate, combining sustainable design with measured acoustic performance.
