Fern

Timberix™ Fern perforated timber acoustic panels are inspired by organic patterns, combining natural design with high-performance sound diffusion and absorption. Designed to control echoes and improve acoustic comfort, it is well-suited for environments that demand both functionality and visual appeal. The surface comes in four finishes: paint, melamine, polypropylene (PP), and veneer. The base material can be selected from MDF, fire-resistant MDF, eco-friendly MDF, black MDF, 3-layer composite, 5-layer composite, or OSB.

Sound Absorption Coefficient

A graph shows absorption coefficient (α) vs frequency for ISO 354 with 25mm Rockwool (60kg/m³) behind Timberix Grooved Acoustic Panels. The coefficient rises, peaks between 315 and 1250 Hz, then gradually decreases toward 5000 Hz.

Timberix™ is tested to ISO 354 Standards, which is the measurement of sound absorption in a reverberation room. The difference in the reverberation times is a measure of the amount of absorption in the room.

Frequently Asked Questions

Timberix™ Fern panels are architectural timber acoustic panels inspired by organic, nature-driven forms, featuring a sculpted surface profile that adds depth and softness to interiors while contributing to effective sound diffusion and absorption.

The contoured surface of Fern panels helps break up and scatter sound reflections, while an acoustic backing behind the panel absorbs sound energy, reducing reverberation and improving overall acoustic comfort in echo-prone environments.

Fern acoustic panels are ideal for walls and ceilings in offices, hospitality spaces, lounges, libraries, auditoriums, retail interiors, and feature areas, especially where designers want natural aesthetics paired with acoustic control.

Yes, Timberix™ Fern panels can be produced using various core materials such as MDF, fire-rated MDF, or eco-friendly boards, and finished with options including real wood veneer, melamine, laminate, or paint to suit different design concepts and performance needs.

Absolutely — Fern panels are manufactured using eco-friendly, recyclable materials and are designed to work with ISO-tested acoustic substrates, making them suitable for sustainability-focused projects that require both high-quality timber aesthetics and reliable acoustic performance.
