Grooved 13/3

Timberix™ wooden grooved acoustic panel is made up of a series of slats and grooves. Each panel has a machined tongue and groove joint for a seamless joinery. The first number refers to the slat size (13mm) and second number refers to the groove size (3mm). The surface comes in 4 types of finishing: paint, melamine, PP, and veneer. The base material can be made of MDF, fire-resistant MDF, eco-friendly MDF, black MDF, 3-layer composite, 5-layer composite or OSB.

Technical Drawing

The Timberix™ 13/3 grooved panel features 13mm wide slats and 3mm grooves. The design elevates acoustic performance by efficiently diffusing and absorbing sound, making it ideal for sound-sensitive environments.

Sound Absorption Coefficient

A graph shows absorption coefficient (α) vs frequency for ISO 354 with 25mm Rockwool (60kg/m³) behind Timberix Grooved Acoustic Panels. The coefficient rises, peaks between 315 and 1250 Hz, then gradually decreases toward 5000 Hz.

Timberix™ is tested to ISO 354 Standards, which is the measurement of sound absorption in a reverberation room. The difference in the reverberation times is a measure of the amount of absorption in the room.

Eco-friendly

We prioritize sustainability and eco-friendliness in our design and manufacturing processes. Made from eco-friendly recyclable materials, these products reduce environmental impact by minimizing waste and promoting long-lasting performance.

Projects

Our projects encompass a broad spectrum, spanning from new building constructions to renovations. These projects involve various spaces, such as offices, auditoriums, concert halls, cinemas, libraries, hotels, and public areas.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Grooved 13/3 panel is a timber acoustic panel with a series of machined timber slats (13 mm) and narrow grooves (3 mm) that work together to trap and scatter sound waves, improving acoustic performance in interior settings.

This panel is ideal for sound-sensitive environments such as offices, libraries, auditoriums, cinemas, and commercial interiors, where controlling echo and reverberation is important for comfort and clarity.

The grooves and slats channel and diffuse sound energy into an acoustic substrate (like mineral wool) behind the panel. This structure helps reduce reverberation and echoes across mid-to-high frequency ranges.

Grooved 13/3 panels can be manufactured from various base materials including MDF, fire-resistant MDF, composite boards, or OSB. They also come in multiple surface finishes such as paint, melamine, polypropylene (PP), or wood veneer to suit different design aesthetics.

Yes — Timberix grooved timber panels are made from eco-friendly recyclable materials and are tested under ISO 354 acoustic standards, showing measurable sound absorption performance.
