Grooved 59/5

Timberix™ wooden grooved acoustic panel is made up of a series of slats and grooves. Each panel has a machined tongue and groove joint for a seamless joinery. The first number refers to the slat size (59mm) and second number refers to the groove size (5mm). The surface comes in 4 types of finishing: paint, melamine, PP, and veneer. The base material can be made of MDF, fire-resistant MDF, eco-friendly MDF, black MDF, 3-layer composite, 5-layer composite or OSB.

Technical Drawing

The Timberix™ 59/5 grooved panel features 59mm wide slats and 5mm grooves. The design elevates acoustic performance by efficiently diffusing and absorbing sound, making it ideal for sound-sensitive environments.

Sound Absorption Coefficient

A line graph shows the absorption coefficient versus frequency for 25mm Rockwool, commonly used with Timberix Grooved Acoustic Panels. The absorption peaks around 1250 Hz and decreases at lower (315 Hz) and higher (5000 Hz) frequencies.

Timberix™ is tested to ISO 354 Standards, which is the measurement of sound absorption in a reverberation room. The difference in the reverberation times is a measure of the amount of absorption in the room.

Eco-friendly

We prioritize sustainability and eco-friendliness in our design and manufacturing processes. Made from eco-friendly recyclable materials, these products reduce environmental impact by minimizing waste and promoting long-lasting performance.

Projects

Our projects encompass a broad spectrum, spanning from new building constructions to renovations. These projects involve various spaces, such as offices, auditoriums, concert halls, cinemas, libraries, hotels, and public areas.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Grooved 59-5 is a solid timber acoustic panel characterized by 59 mm wide slats with 5 mm grooves, designed to diffuse and absorb sound. The numbers (59-5) refer to the slat width (59 mm) and groove width (5 mm) of the panel surface.

Sound waves are captured and diffused by the deep grooves and slats and then absorbed by an acoustic backing (e.g., rockwool or mineral wool) behind the panel. This significantly reduces echo and reverberation, especially in sound-sensitive environments like auditoriums or commercial spaces.

You can choose a variety of base materials — such as MDF, fire-resistant MDF, eco-friendly MDF, black MDF, 3-layer or 5-layer composite, or OSB — and multiple finishes including paint, melamine, polypropylene (PP), or real wood veneer to match architectural aesthetics.

Yes — the Grooved 59-5 panels are made from eco-friendly recyclable materials to reduce environmental impact. They’re also designed to meet recognized acoustic performance standards (ISO 354) when paired with a sound-absorbing substrate.

These acoustic panels are ideal for commercial buildings, performance halls, offices, libraries, cinemas, and hotel interiors, helping to control reverberation while adding a premium timber aesthetic to walls or ceilings.
