Microgrooved 5/3

Timberix™ wooden micrgrooved acoustic panel is made up of a series of slats and grooves. Each panel has a machined tongue and groove joint for a seamless joinery. The first number refers to the slat size (5mm) and second number refers to the groove size (3mm). The surface comes in 4 types of finishing: paint, melamine, PP, and veneer. The base material can be made of MDF, fire-resistant MDF, eco-friendly MDF, black MDF, 3-layer composite, 5-layer composite or OSB.

Two rectangular Timberix Microgrooved Panels with evenly spaced vertical slots are arranged on a light background. Green leaves are visible in the top right corner.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Microgrooved 5/3 is a wood acoustic panel with a series of very narrow slats and grooves — 5 mm wide slats with 3 mm grooves — designed to improve sound absorption while maintaining a sleek, modern timber finish.

The closely spaced grooves trap and diffuse sound waves, guiding them into the grooves so they can be absorbed by an underlying acoustic substrate such as rockwool or fibreglass. This helps reduce echo and reverberation, especially in high-frequency ranges.

These panels are suitable for walls and ceilings in sound-sensitive environments — including offices, classrooms, studios, libraries, and commercial interiors — where both acoustic control and a refined wooden aesthetic are desired.

Yes — Microgrooved 5/3 comes with multiple surface finish options like paint, melamine, polypropylene (PP), or wood veneer, which allows seamless integration with a wide range of interior styles and architectural themes.

Absolutely. Timberix™ microgrooved acoustic panels are made from eco-friendly, recyclable materials that help reduce environmental impact while delivering effective acoustic performance.
