Microgrooved 9/2

Timberix™ wooden micrgrooved acoustic panel is made up of a series of slats and grooves. Each panel has a machined tongue and groove joint for a seamless joinery. The first number refers to the slat size (9mm) and second number refers to the groove size (2mm). The surface comes in 4 types of finishing: paint, melamine, PP, and veneer. The base material can be made of MDF, fire-resistant MDF, eco-friendly MDF, black MDF, 3-layer composite, 5-layer composite or OSB.

A rectangular Timberix Microgrooved Panel is positioned diagonally on a white background, with green leaves partially framing the corners.

Sound Absorption Coefficient

Timberix™ is tested to ISO 354 Standards, which is the measurement of sound absorption in a reverberation room. The difference in the reverberation times is a measure of the amount of absorption in the room.

Eco-friendly

We prioritize sustainability and eco-friendliness in our design process. Made from eco-friendly recyclable materials, these products reduce environmental impact by minimizing waste and promoting durability.

Projects

Our projects encompass a broad spectrum, spanning from new building constructions to renovations. These projects involve various spaces, such as offices, auditoriums, concert halls, cinemas, libraries, hotels, and public areas.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Microgrooved 9/2 is a type of wood acoustic panel with finely machined 9 mm slats and 2 mm grooves that help scatter and trap sound energy. The first number (9) refers to the slat width and the second (2) indicates the groove width in millimetres.

The closely spaced micro-grooves increase surface area and diffuse sound waves, reducing reflective noise and reverberation when installed with an appropriate acoustic substrate behind the panel. This creates clearer, more comfortable sound in interiors.

Microgrooved 9/2 panels come with four finishing options — paint, melamine, polypropylene (PP), and wood veneer — and can be made from a variety of base materials including MDF, fire-resistant MDF, eco-friendly MDF, black MDF, composite boards, or OSB.

These panels are suitable for sound-sensitive environments such as offices, auditoriums, libraries, studios, classrooms, hotels, and other commercial interiors where echo control and aesthetics are both important.

Yes — the Microgrooved panels are tested to ISO 354 acoustic standards, ensuring measurable sound absorption performance. They’re also designed with eco-friendly, recyclable materials to reduce environmental impact and support sustainable building practices.
