Microperforated E 8/8/0.5

Timberix™ Microperforated panel is made with a 2-layer perforation structure, which traps and diffracts sound in the holes. The sound that passes through the perforation is further absorbed by acoustic substrate such as fiberglass or mineral wool, which reduces reverberation in the room. The perforation of 0.5mm micro-holes is only perceptible at a short eye distance (+/- 250 000 holes/m2) and laminated on a 15mm thick perforated MDF eco-friendly board.

Technical Drawing

The Timberix™ E 8/8/0.5 perforated panel features 0.5mm diameter linear perforation spaced 8mm apart. The design efficiently diffuses and absorbs sound, making it ideal for sound-sensitive environments.

Non-perforated

Sound Absorption Coefficient

Timberix™ is tested to ISO 354 Standards, which is the measurement of sound absorption in a reverberation room. The difference in the reverberation times is a measure of the amount of absorption in the room.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Microperforated E 8/8/0.5 is a precision wood acoustic panel with tiny 0.5 mm diameter micro-holes spaced 8 mm apart in both directions, featuring a two-layer perforation structure that traps and diffracts sound through the perforations and into an acoustic substrate like fibreglass or mineral wool to reduce reverberation.

The high-density pattern of extremely small perforations allows sound waves to enter the panel surface and interact with the backing substrate, increasing sound energy absorption and significantly lowering echo and reverberation compared with hard untreated surfaces.

These microperforated panels are ideal for walls and ceilings in offices, studios, lecture halls, libraries, commercial interiors, and other acoustically challenging environments where enhanced speech clarity and noise reduction are desired without sacrificing a sleek wood finish.

In this panel code, “E” refers to a linear perforation pattern, the first and second “8” denote horizontal and vertical hole spacing of 8 mm, and “0.5” refers to the 0.5 mm diameter micro-holes that help increase surface interaction with sound waves while maintaining a minimalist visual texture.

Yes, these microperforated panels are made from eco-friendly, recyclable materials, and are designed to work with acoustic substrates to achieve sound absorption and reverberation control verified using ISO 354 acoustic testing standards for performance in real interior environments.
