Milliperforated E 16/16/3

Timberix™ Milliperforated panel is made with a 2-layer perforation structure, which traps and diffracts sound in the holes. The sound that passes through the perforation is further absorbed by acoustic substrate such as fiberglass or mineral wool, which reduces reverberation in the room. The perforation of 1mm to 3mm micro-holes is only perceptible at a short eye distance (+/- 250 000 holes/m2) and laminated on a 15mm thick perforated MDF eco-friendly board.

Sound Absorption Coefficient

Timberix™ is tested to ISO 354 Standards, which is the measurement of sound absorption in a reverberation room. The difference in the reverberation times is a measure of the amount of absorption in the room.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Milliperforated E 16/16/3 is a wood acoustic panel from Timberix featuring a linear pattern of micro-holes (approximately 3 mm diameter) spaced 16 mm apart horizontally and vertically, engineered with a dual-layer perforation structure to trap and guide sound into an acoustic substrate for effective echo and reverberation reduction.

This panel’s perforations allow sound to enter the surface and be diffracted into the micro-holes, where the energy is then absorbed by backing materials like mineral wool or fibreglass, which helps significantly lower reverberation and improve acoustic comfort in treated spaces.

Milliperforated E 16/16/3 panels are well suited for walls and ceilings in offices, lecture halls, studios, conference rooms, libraries, and commercial interiors where enhanced sound clarity, reduced echo, and refined timber aesthetics are desired.

Yes, it is designed to work with various acoustic backings such as rockwool or mineral wool to tailor absorption performance for specific frequency bands, allowing flexible acoustic solutions that suit the unique needs of a room or environment.

Yes — Timberix™ Milliperforated panels are made from eco-friendly, recyclable materials that support sustainable design goals, and they are acoustically tested to ISO 354 standards, which verify sound absorption effectiveness in reverberation room conditions.
