Milliperforated V 4/4/1

Timberix™ Milliperforated panel is made with a 2-layer perforation structure, which traps and diffracts sound in the holes. The sound that passes through the perforation is further absorbed by acoustic substrate such as fiberglass or mineral wool, which reduces reverberation in the room. The perforation of 1mm to 3mm micro-holes is only perceptible at a short eye distance (+/- 250 000 holes/m2) and laminated on a 15mm thick perforated MDF eco-friendly board.

Technical Drawing

The Timberix™ V 4/4/1 perforated panel features 1mm diameter staggered perforation spaced 4mm apart. The design efficiently diffuses and absorbs sound, making it ideal for sound-sensitive environments.

Non-perforated

Sound Absorption

Timberix™ is tested to ISO 354 Standards, which is the measurement of sound absorption in a reverberation room. The difference in the reverberation times is a measure of the amount of absorption in the room.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Milliperforated V 4/4/1 acoustic panel is a timber panel with a staggered perforation pattern featuring 1 mm diameter holes spaced 4 mm apart, designed with a two-layer perforation structure to diffract and trap sound before it’s absorbed by an acoustic substrate, helping reduce reverberation in interior spaces.

The staggered (V) layout of micro-perforations causes sound waves to enter from multiple angles, enhancing diffraction and diffusion and allowing the energy to be absorbed more effectively by the backing material such as fibreglass or mineral wool, which helps lower echo and improve acoustic comfort.

These panels are ideal for walls and ceilings in sound-sensitive environments like offices, classrooms, theatres, libraries, studios and commercial interiors where controlling reverberation and enhancing speech clarity are important while maintaining a refined wood finish.

In Timberix’s naming scheme, the “V” signifies a staggered perforation pattern, the two “4” values represent horizontal and vertical spacing between perforations (4 mm), and the “1” refers to the 1 mm diameter holes, which together define the acoustic interaction and appearance of the panel.

Yes — these panels are made with eco-friendly, recyclable materials, and Timberix’s milliperforated products are acoustically engineered with ISO-standard approaches and are often paired with backing insulation to achieve measurable reductions in reverberation and noise levels for interior acoustic comfort.
