Milliperforated V 8/8/1

Timberix™ Milliperforated panel is made with a 2-layer perforation structure, which traps and diffracts sound in the holes. The sound that passes through the perforation is further absorbed by acoustic substrate such as fiberglass or mineral wool, which reduces reverberation in the room. The perforation of 1mm to 3mm micro-holes is only perceptible at a short eye distance (+/- 250 000 holes/m2) and laminated on a 15mm thick perforated MDF eco-friendly board.

Technical Drawing

The Timberix™ V 8/8/1 perforated panel features 1mm diameter staggered perforation spaced 8mm apart. The design efficiently diffuses and absorbs sound, making it ideal for sound-sensitive environments.

Non-perforated

Sound Absorption

Timberix™ is tested to ISO 354 Standards, which is the measurement of sound absorption in a reverberation room. The difference in the reverberation times is a measure of the amount of absorption in the room.

Frequently Asked Questions

Timberix™ Milliperforated V 8/8/1 is a precision-engineered timber acoustic panel featuring 1 mm micro-perforations arranged in a staggered (V) pattern with 8 mm horizontal and vertical spacing, designed to reduce reverberation while preserving a clean, refined wood appearance for architectural interiors.

The staggered perforation layout increases sound diffusion by allowing sound waves to enter the panel from multiple angles, guiding the energy through the micro-holes into an acoustic substrate such as mineral wool or fibreglass, where it is absorbed to effectively reduce echo and improve overall acoustic comfort.

These panels are suitable for walls and ceilings in offices, conference rooms, auditoriums, libraries, classrooms, studios, and commercial interiors where subtle acoustic treatment is required without compromising a premium timber aesthetic.

The “V” indicates a staggered perforation pattern, “8/8” refers to the horizontal and vertical spacing between perforations (8 mm × 8 mm), and “1” denotes the 1 mm hole diameter, together defining both the visual texture and acoustic behaviour of the panel.

Yes, Timberix™ Milliperforated panels are manufactured using eco-friendly, recyclable materials, and when combined with ISO-tested acoustic backing systems, they deliver verified reverberation control suitable for sustainable and performance-driven interior design projects.
