Milliperforated V 8/8/3

Timberix™ Milliperforated panel is made with a 2-layer perforation structure, which traps and diffracts sound in the holes. The sound that passes through the perforation is further absorbed by acoustic substrate such as fiberglass or mineral wool, which reduces reverberation in the room. The perforation of 1mm to 3mm micro-holes is only perceptible at a short eye distance (+/- 250 000 holes/m2) and laminated on a 15mm thick perforated MDF eco-friendly board.

Technical Drawing

The Timberix™ V 8/8/3 perforated panel features 3mm diameter staggered perforation spaced 8mm apart. The design efficiently diffuses and absorbs sound, making it ideal for sound-sensitive environments.

Non-perforated

Sound Absorption

Timberix™ is tested to ISO 354 Standards, which is the measurement of sound absorption in a reverberation room. The difference in the reverberation times is a measure of the amount of absorption in the room.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Milliperforated V 8/8/3 is a timber acoustic panel featuring 3 mm diameter staggered perforations spaced 8 mm apart in a dual-layer structure that traps and diffracts sound through the tiny holes before it’s absorbed by an acoustic substrate like fibreglass or mineral wool, reducing reverberation in interior spaces.

Its staggered micro-perforation layout increases surface interaction with sound waves and enables deeper sound penetration into the panel’s backing material, which enhances the panel’s ability to reduce echo and improve overall acoustic comfort in treated rooms.

These panels are ideal for walls and ceilings in sound-sensitive environments such as offices, auditoriums, classrooms, studios, and commercial interiors where reducing reverberation and enhancing speech clarity are important while still maintaining a refined timber aesthetic.

“V” signifies a staggered perforation pattern, the “8/8” denotes the horizontal and vertical spacing between perforations (8 mm), and “3” refers to the 3 mm hole diameter, which together define the visual perforation geometry and contribute to the panel’s acoustic functionality.

Yes, these panels are made from eco-friendly, recyclable materials, and Timberix’s milliperforated designs are acoustically tested to industry standards (ISO 354) to verify sound absorption performance, helping lower reverberation times in interior environments.
