Sound Absorption Coefficient

Timberix™ is tested to ISO 354 Standards, which is the measurement of sound absorption in a reverberation room. The difference in the reverberation times is a measure of the amount of absorption in the room.

Frequently Asked Questions

Timberix™ Ribbed panels are architectural timber acoustic panels featuring raised ribbed profiles that add depth, texture, and visual rhythm while helping to diffuse and absorb sound, making them more effective for acoustic control than flat, non-profiled wood surfaces.

The ribbed surface breaks up sound reflections and helps scatter sound waves across the panel face, while an acoustic substrate installed behind the panel absorbs sound energy, reducing reverberation and improving overall acoustic comfort in a room.

Ribbed acoustic panels are ideal for walls and ceilings in offices, auditoriums, hotels, lobbies, libraries, retail spaces, and feature interiors, especially where designers want both sound control and a strong architectural wood statement.

Yes, Timberix™ Ribbed panels can be manufactured using different core materials such as MDF, fire-rated MDF, or eco-friendly boards, and finished with options including paint, melamine, laminate, or real wood veneer to suit a wide range of interior design concepts.

Absolutely — these panels are produced using eco-friendly, recyclable materials and are designed to work with ISO-tested acoustic backing systems, making them suitable for sustainable, performance-driven interior projects that require both acoustic control and refined timber aesthetics.
